Inception, is very much like the Matrix, you would be raving about the amazing effects you see on screen and the worlds created by the characters but somewhere along the way you find it hard to relate. It makes for interesting viewing but of a world which you know is not possible i.e., of events which are executed in dreams so as to affect the real world. Its like being obsessed with one particular idea and that idea is the key behind the world functioning.
Personally for me it didn't work as well as the Dark Knight. Dark Knight even though a movie about Superhero (Batman) & his fight against evil was very much grounded and one could relate to it with real circumstances. Coupled with strong technological backup Wayne could stand up as Batman without raising the slightest apprehensions. He was afterall vulnerable and susceptible like all humans, which perhaps was the biggest achievement of Nolan.
Inception is supposed to do just the opposite what was meant for Dark Knight.
Inception is a must watch and like all Nolan movies, it is a one which will make you question, think and ultimately admire the intellect and the sheer execution of one of the finest directors since Stanley Kubrick.
