End of the World ? No its Human Nature !

With every conflict that emerges in any part of the world, with thousands of bombs flying around and millions of people dying, there is one thought in everyone's mind, IS THIS THE END OF THE WORLD ? Where is the world coming to ? What is our future ? No matter what the reason of conflict, the time when it occurs uncertainty looms large on the minds of people ! Everyone wants peace or so they say ! But the real pain is inflicted upon those who have lost their near and dear one in the mindless killing. Is there really gonna be a end to human conflicts ?
The reason why I say "human conflicts" is a very interesting. From time indeterminate, man has been fighting, within tribes, within groups, within villages, within states, within countries, within neighbours, with outsiders. No country or for that matter no civilization can boast of a bloodless past. Either it has been oppressing or was being oppressed, the truth is there is struggle, conflict and violence for a long time now. Infact looking at the past we do see that there were less moments of peace than moments of war. More people dying in war than people being born in peace. What were the reasons ?
There were umpteen answers from the past for the emergence of violence and conflicts between people, states and countries. The smaller justifications have their space in history but one fundamental reason for all conflicts was "POWER". The need for power, the need to stay in power, the need to be "POWERFUL". Open any chapter of history, take any battle or struggle of the past be it the Romans, the Greeks, the English, the French, the Germans, the Russians, the Americans, the Islamists, anyone, there is one underlying reason to wage war, TO BE IN A COMMANDING POSITION.
I still remember the dialogue from the movie Lord of the Rings - I, "Minds of Men are easily corrupted !" No words can be truer than those. Its those corrupt, petty minds of men that lead to conflict and destruction of a race, or atleast defamation of the same. All other motives or the motivating forces become secondary. Let it be the holy war, or the upheaval of the superior race or the conquering of the whole world, these becomes mere words or tools to motivate people who cannot see the bigger picture. The person on the helm of those conflicts, be it Alexander, Julius Caesar, Napolean, Hitler, Bush, Osama Bin Laden, Nazarellah, Parvez Musharaf, anyone want one thing, the power to determine the fates of thousands. They are willing to go any length, have no dignity and fall beyond human standards to achieve what they desire. To stay in POWER !! Be in power and misuse it. Misuse it to degrade a entire generation. With leaders like this there are bound to be struggles and conflicts till man knows.
In today's time and for that matter in every time we need people like Abraham Lincoln & Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who are capable, sensitive and retrospective. Who are more than willing to see the future and understand that conflicts and struggle should be ended, in order to let a nation rise, above all, letting humanity rise. Unless issues are not handled with sensitivity and a certain firmness at the given time, it can always escalate to something bigger than one anticipates. A New order, a new thinking, a new leadership has to rise in order to renew and reinstill the faith of humans on fellows humans. We have to be aware and cautious of our actions at every point of time in order to keep ourselves away from the evil of becoming POWERFUL and then misusing it.
