Kong is King ???
The day I saw the first part, I wanted more. I could not wait. I was thrilled, I was amazed. So, the next day I came back from college and watched the second part. It's even more exciting. I cannot wait. I want to know what's next ? So since I had bunked the classes and come home early in the afternoon, I had sufficient time to watch the third part. So I ordered it and there I was, watched all the three parts within 24 hours. And one thing came to my mind again and again and that was "What a fool I was that I missed the oppurtunity to watch this movie in the theaters !!!"
The LOTR, is a splendid trilogy, one of the greatest and grandest of all times. One of the best works is the splendid exploitation of New Zealand's Scenic Wonders. The camera work, the cinematography, the angles, amazing !!!! Peter Jackson is one of the truly talented, visionary directors of our times. I rate him much higher than George Lucas, who is accredited with bigger achievements. The reason is, unlike George Lucas, who is too goofed up with the technology and creating things that the essence is lost, Peter tells a story so wonderfully, it touches a chord within.
If the LOTR was the story of good v/s evil, King Kong is a romantic thriller. Well I know you must be wondering, what is this guy saying "Romantic ?????" Well, to your surprise, it is !!! The time I came to know that King Kong was directed by Sir Peter Jackson, I was keen on going to watch it. I got the best seats (cushion seats) to enjoy a movie which truly comes once in a lifetime.
King Kong has everything any sci-flick has given us. Huge Apes, Bigger Dinosaurs, Carnivorous Dinosaurs, Slimy Creatures, Ugly Natives, Scenic Views. I mean its like watching 10 movies at the price of 1. Really excellent worth of money. There is not much of a plot which requires explanation, but two things stand out. The beauty of the female lead, Naomi Watts(she indeed looks very serene, divine, no wonder the ape falls for her) and the direction of Sir Peter Jackson.
The emotion of Kong for his love for the woman is breath taking. I mean it really moves you. Suddenly, you start liking the 25 foot 8 th wonder of the world, who pounds the chest a little too much, and tries to scare you with no intimation at all. But all very entertaining.
And there is a interesting thing which I would like to add. The facial artist who gave the emotions to King Kong in this movie, and to Smeagol / Gollum in LOTR (the slimy little creature) was Andy Serkis, a brilliant actor and born on the 20th of April. Well whats interesting ?? He shares his birthday with ME !!!! Thats interesting !!!
Any way there is one more thought which is very disturbing. I feel Kong may also been a Queen, coz from all angles I did not see anything dangling or any thing upright, even when he's holding his babe. I mean is this not a female gorilla ??? I hope this movie is a sign for the lesbian protagonist.
Anywayz, enjoyed the movie and delighted to inform everyone. Dun miss the oppurtunity.

Wandering Thoughts of an Idle Mind - I
Since the last couple of days, I have been undergoing the same feeling. After endless hours of hearing music, watching TV, surfing the net, reading some stuff, the mind still keeps thinking (the thoughts are keen on being blogged!!).
In the silent moments of introspection and wandering thoughts of the isolated mind, there is an overwhelming desire to understand what we are trying to achieve anyway. Are we happy with what has turned up in life so far? What else we desire? What else do we need? How we going to get that? Many answers to these questions are understood to be known but on a deeper thought would only lead to empty truths, and that is, we are unaware!!
We are unaware of what we really aspire to be? How we going to achieve that ultimate goal? What are the values and kind of principles we are going to keep intact while achieving the goals?
Now this is the part I hate the most, I really have missed out what I intended to write. Since, I do not have a device, which can directly blog from what I am thinking, I think I am going to leave this post here at this point, and continue in various part series.
Because the mind does wander a lot!!!!!

Taste of Editing.
There are certain issues that are always plaguing our society, but we are too busy, to address them and simply like to go about doing our work, and suffer on a daily basis. I like to call everybody's attention to the extremely slow process, of I dun know who the BMC, the MMRDA or any other govt. agency, who is assigned the work of digging the roads, do some petty work and closing it up. The entire process is painstakingly slow and pathetic (to say the least). I stay at 7 Bunglows and got my office at Andheri - (W), near the Andheri Sports Complex, hardly 10 mins drive. However, due to the divider which have to fixed since the 26/7 floods and the roads which are dug on every alternate side, the situation is very dismal, I reach office after 30 mins or so !! The things I can't understand, if they dun believe in project management, let it be simple common sense management. They dig up all the roads, at the same time, and do work in small sections. Man !! open some section, finish it and start the next part or if you are opening the entire thing, employ more men, more machines, more lighting equipment, work day and night and get the job done in 2-3 days max. Instead, the work goes on for 15 days or sometimes even to the extent of 1 month. So what are the implications of these actions? The immediate implication, as I can see it, is the increase in traffic jam. The more the traffic jam, the more cars would be held up and more consumption of petrol / diesel would take, leading to more import of precious oils and subsequently a trade deficit to the country. Even allocating 1% of that total deficit to the quick execution of projects can substantially reduce effects of such poor work. I hope there is some credibility at the institution level to execute the projects quickly and see that there is the least amount of trouble to the already troubled Mumbaikars.
And this is the edited version which appeared in the 13th Dec. Issue of Mumbai Mirror under the heading Rocky Roads, in the city section.
Rocky roads
That any government work is painfully slow is clear as day. One example is the digging of roads that results in choking traffic snarls.
I stay at Seven Bungalows and my office is near Andheri Sports Complex - a 10 minute drive. However, due to the divider which has been plonked after the July 26 floods and the roads which are dug on every side, the situation is horrendous. As a result, it takes me 30 minutes to reach the office. Forget project management, there isn’t even common sense management at work here. My humble query: Why do they dig up the entire road first and then carry out work in small sections? Why can’t they work in a small stretch, finish it and move on? Because of the faulty method, the road work goes on 15 days and in some cases, even a month. And what are the implications? Traffic jams, increased consumption of petrol/diesel and higher pollution.
Mumbaikars aren’t exactly proud of the city’s roads. The least the authorities can do is to ensure that the citizens aren’t troubled further.

Perserverance and Capability
I respect him, not because he has reached a milestone in both forms of cricket, broke records, has consistently performed and remained to sustain for 16 years, but for different reasons altogether. I respect because he has survived. I believe, above his capability to be aggressive as well as keep a straight face about the same, there are some more facets to his personality.
I was reading a article in the Mumbai Mirror, today where he said, his coach used to make him bat all day and afterwards, in the evening with all padded up would make them run around the ground. That makes me wonder, whether it is only his capability that have taken him so far. I feel his perserverance has a lot to do with his success than capability alone. History has umpteen examples wherein men have achieved greatness not by capability alone but with perserverance.
Euler at the age of 55 turned blind but recorded / published his best works after he was blind. Everyone knows about Edison and his famous quote "99% Perspiration & 1% Inspiration." After a certain level, it does not matter how talented one is or capable of accomplishing things, if he is not able to apply himself for a certain amount and patiently work towards the goal, the goal is never to be achieved. Lack of capability is not a hurdle but the lack of patiently working can be a big drawback in a world where people judge only by your success and achievements. Success may elude you for some time and the idea of working silently and patiently towards the goal would seem to be the craziest idea ever, but it pays off.
I thank you Sachin, for reaffirming this belief and that is consistent hard work. I know I am not one of the best in what I am doing right now, but your perserverance and subsequent achievements have shown a new direction to me.
I have taken lessons from you for life. For your career, keep on performing, inspiring and influencing millions of young minds to achieve success by sheer hardwork and consistent, patient application of mind, body and soul.
May God bless you with all His divinity.

Living in a fantasy world !!!
I have been using the software and the new technology for 7 years now, and I can't remember a single instance where the software is working in my behalf. I have to keep learning new things and new technologies in order to keep up with the software. Our already hectic life is thanks to the software. With all the interesting things coming up and we essentially being of the same "version", with the limited amount of time, we have to do a lot of things compared to even 5 years before. I can very well see, that in future, thanks to software, our lives are gonna even more hectic. For example, Microsoft, grandly announces the voice recognition software, so we don't have to type but the talking is enough. But we have to voice train the software. And voice training for hours and hours in order that the stupid software is able to understand us. And suddenly tommorrow your hard drive crashed due to a virus and you at ground zero.
With already my eyes version changing from "-0.5" to "-0.75", I know life gonna be worst down the line. With cell phones reducing the sperms and god knows what about the other emission and radiations of the devices, I am definitely not excited about the new things taking place. Already I feel out of place when kiddies around me are talking of latest PS2 or XBOX games.
I will be happy if, like in Engineering, I manage to cross the magical figure of 40 without much health related problems. Some day, I would show you even my Beta Version (Beta = Son in Hindi).
Till then, have a great time while you are away from the software wonders.

Nature's Lessons
What I find interesting to talk about is that, after all this years of progressing without giving the slightest thought to whether the development is sustainable or not, we are now looking towards nature to solve our complex life. So, now thankfully, the engineers who were holding no regard for nature and their existence would now enthusiatically vie for the sustainence of the same, in order to understand more mysteries that the nature beholds and provide better solutions to existing problems.
There is a big picture at the entry of my home saying, "Nature can teach what your mother cannot", never really understood the significance of the statement, but now I do. And hopefully many engineers around the world too.
